Barkana Falls, Agumbe, Shimoga
River Sita originating from the hill ranges of Agumbe flows down the Western Ghats and runs through the dense forests of Kabbinale region. At the hill top various tributaries are formed which jump down the Ghats on the spectacular backdrop of Agumbe ranges forming many attractive waterfalls. Barkana is one among them. The Barkana view point, from where one gets a good view of the waterfall along with vast hill ranges of Agumbe is reachable from Mallandur village. Mallandur is around 5 kms from Agumbe. En-route another small waterfall called Jogigundi can also be seen. From the village one has to trek for 2kms on a jeep track.
