Balla Raya Durga

Whenever you are around Kalasa, Horanadu or Mudigere – the Balla Raya Durga is the fort to visit. As mighty as the Great King Balla Raya, the fort might have served this ruler in many ways. With a surveillance extending to horizon on all sides, the high altitude would have been an ideal summer camp for the king.
Lying in between Kalasa and Mudigere, the peak is unbelievably colorful. During sunrise and sunset it wears mesmerizing look. During monsoon, the entire region will be heavily clouded and hardly anything can be visible. Rest of the season is a real color riot with sun, mist, forest and hillocks indulge in a perfect tango.
A newly laid winding road leads all the way up to foothills. From here a 3Kms walk takes you to Durga. It will be fun all along.
