Kodachadri

Kodachadri is a hill station near Kollur. The peak can be seen lying behind Sri Mookambika Temple of Kollur. Kodachadri ranges of Sahyadri (Western Ghats) plays a major role in formation of monsoon clouds in the malnad regions of Hosanagara, Sagara and linganamakki catchment areas and coastal regions of Udupi, Kundapur and Bhatkal. It is also supports the Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary under its foothills. Sauparnika and Chakra rivers originates from its ranges and supports Chakra and Linganamakki reservoirs. It is home for Arashinagundi, Hidlumane and Belakal Falls.

As there is no proper road to the peak, either a strenuous trek of some 5-6Kms or a bumpy jeep ride are the options. The peak offers stunning sunset and sunrise. From Dec to Feb when there will be thick fog in the morning, it will be an ideal time for watching sunrise.
