Godchinamalaki Falls is in Gokak, around 15kms from the town and 60Kms from Belgaum. The falls is formed by Markandeya River (one of the very few rivers called by masculine name). Here the river falls in many steps over a well spread-out rocks before jumping into a narrow cleft. One can climb the hill opposite to the falls to have a spectacular view of the wast expanse of Markandeya river as it dances down the rocky terrain step by step.
Gokak falls is a waterfall known for its beauty. The waterfall is horse shoe shaped at the crest, with a flood breadth of 177 metres (580 ft). It is located at a distance of 6 km from Gokak on the Ghataprabha River in the Belgaum district. Also, check out various hotels in Belgaum.
